While creating the Saints and Guardian Angels, I was commissioned to paint a large abstract.
A refreshing change, I began it enthusiastically with a large circle, then allowing it to have a
life of its own. I delightfully surprised with the results. Taken with this process, I decided to
create a series of abstracts and take each painting to its most extravagant end. (I was very
familiar with overindulgence already). Well, one amazing revelation led to another wondrous
surprise. Like the Saints and Guardian Angels before them, Extravaganzas glow in the dark,
producing an altered composition when the lights are out.
